Life coaching is not counselling and it is not therapy. It is a practical, forward-looking way to gain clarity on what you do not like about your life and what you can do about it. It is becoming more and more popular, and here are a few reasons why!
1. Time out: It forces you to step out of the rat race and take a good honest look at your life and where it is going. You look at all aspects - family, career, social, personal, health, finances, partner and spiritual. If you are working too hard and your life is out of balance, a life coach will bring balance into your life.
2. Clarity: For some people, all they need to succeed is to clarify what they want in life, and then set goals to move towards that. Life coaching helps you clarify what you actually DO want from life.
3. Goal Setting. Once you know what you want in life, it is so much easier to set achievable and reasonable goals. A life coach will help you put these goals into a plan with a time frame and weekly tasks that will help you move toward your target.
4. Focus. There is not point setting all these great goals, if in a week's time you forget all about them and get distracted. A life coach helps you stay focused on where you want to go and what you need to get there. They also motivate you, which keep you focused on your journey.
5. Beliefs. There is no point in setting goals to achieve something that deep down you do not really believe you can achieve. Life coaching looks at the belief system in your life that subconsciously may be limiting your success.
